A must do modification if you’re rebuilding or planning to race one of these engines.

We fitted the Denstoj retainers to our Time Attack BRZ and it has already earned its money back. A slightly over enthusiastic downshift could have easily cost us an engine, but this setup did exactly what it was designed to do and saved it.

For anyone pushing these engines hard, this is one of those upgrades I’d consider essential, especially given this is a known weak point in the factory setup

Truly, the best thing you can get for an ft86 platform transmission drop. This simplified what could have been a very frustrating job. Simply removing the old plastic bushings was a massive pita. Installing them is guaranteed suffering. These were utterly painless, and function just as well as oem.

My only suggestion to anyone installing these is to also install a thicker plate washer or two to take up the gap of one side of the bushing not having a shoulder and the pin sits tight. It's what I did, at least. Seems to have worked flawlessly.

And get two.

I installed a set of the Denstoj rocker retainers on my 2016 86 when building the engine. Amazing product and service. Giving me confidence pushing the engine to the limits!!

Easy to install and seems to work well even when revving the engine above 8000rpm.
Nice not to have the usual rocker arm stopper in the way when adjusting the cams and valve clearance.

These things keep my SCCA TT BRZ from having the dreaded rocker ejection, I rev my tuned engine out for all its worth for 20 minute sessions with confidence that the rockers at least, will not be an issue!
